Let us start by saying, we appreciate dental insurance, and we believe that it is a wonderful supplement to a person’s dental healthcare. However, it is not meant to be a “pay all”– only a supplement. Often, there are deductibles. Some services are paid on a percentage while others may not be paid at all. Your employer (not our office) buys a contract at a specified premium and includes many or as few benefits as your employer is willing to pay for. As such, the amount paid for the premium determines the amount of available benefits.
Also, your policy is a contract negotiated between you or your employer and the insurance carrier to partially pay for certain services. Our office has no input as to how they establish their fees, and fortunately for you they have no control over how much time we schedule for a procedure, what materials we use, etc.
